What is something most women (and some men) would love to have on a regular basis? Something that says…
…”I’ve been thinking about you”
…”You are special to me”
…”I wanted to bring some joy and brightness to your day”
…”You matter to me”
…”I love you”
Everyone knows the one thing that says all of the above are beautiful, colorful, uplifting FLOWERS!
Most people love flowers, me included.
Then, there is the other camp that says…
…”It’s okay, I don’t need flowers”
…”Oh, what a waste of money”
…”They just die in a few days anyway”
I don’t believe any of those statements come from a heart that feels truly worthy of love. Underneath those words, I hear…
…”If they don’t give me flowers and I care about whether they do or not, I will feel rejected”
…”I don’t need beautiful things”
…”If I love receiving flowers or even buy them for myself that means I am being wasteful, so I cannot allow myself to enjoy that indulgence…my joy is not worth it”.
Those ideas have an underlying common theme…experiencing momentary joy in the beauty of God’s creation is not for me.
Oh, how sad that is, to think that we sometimes believe that God does not want us to feel His love for us through His creation. Or, that we do not want to be vulnerable enough to expose ourselves to the possibility that we need that momentary uplifting beauty and joy to help us navigate this sometimes very dark and difficult life. Or, we actually believe that somehow we are enough, all by ourselves, and we do not need
anyone to tell us otherwise and therefore, Bah…humbug…to flowers!
I say bah…humbug…to THOSE ideas, and so...
So I will be bringing you flowers. Lots and lots of beautiful flowers!
Some of my favorites are running a little bit late due to some technical difficulties, but please take a look at what we have in stock and join me in allowing yourself to indulge in some flowers (that, by-the-way, will never die); or if you have enough flowers in your life right now, then gift some of my flowers to someone who needs to hear you or God say…
…”I’ve been thinking about you”
…”You are special to me”
…”I wanted to bring some joy and brightness to your day”
…”You matter to me”
…”I love you”
Stay tuned for the New Floral Collection announcement. Until then, keep your chin up and your eyes on Jesus and remember...
You are loved,
Becky
